We are seeking an experienced Plant Genetics Researcher to collaborate with our international team to develop new techniques in plant biology and unlock novel genetics approaches. As a Plant Genetics Researcher at Genesis Healthcare, you will lead the coordination and execution of projects central to our genetic research. Working with our team you will combine approaches from multiple disciplines to determine how to apply next generation gene editing technology. You will collaborate closely with our Bioinformatics, Data Science and Laboratory teams as well as Academic partners to drive genomic research initiatives. 

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to: 

  • Conduct innovative multi-year plant genetics research within a multidisciplinary team environment 

  • Collaborate effectively with international teams to achieve project objectives 

  • Utilize CRISPR technology to generate novel insights in plant systems 

  • Collaborate with Genesis Healthcare's bioinformatics team to establish and maintain a comprehensive genomic database 

  • Produce scientific publications documenting novel scientific research 

  • MS or PhD in Genetics, Biology, Botany, or a related field 

  • Ability to work effectively in cross disciplinary and international teams 

  • Demonstrated experience in plant germline research

  • Experience with CRISPR technology is highly desirable 

  • Familiarity with germline manipulation techniques using agrobacterium is advantageous 

  • Proficiency in Japanese language preferred, though not mandatory
