Sendai, Japan, September 9, 2022 -- Genesis Healthcare Co. hosted a luncheon seminar at the Japanese Alcohol, Nicotine & Drug Addition Conference 2022.
The conference was Co-chaired by Dr. Koichi Shiraishi, Professor of Tokai University and Dr. Toru Ishikawa, President of Tohoku-Kai Hospital. The event strives to be a place to provide academic information that leads to innovative directions by fusing actual clinical practice with underlying scientific basis.
Dr. Shohei Matsuzaki, Professor Emeritus of Tokai University chaired the seminar. Dr. Takeshi Ozeki, Data Scientist at Genesis Healthcare introduced the current status of genetic testing and its application in the domain of addiction detection and research. It was followed by a lecture by Dr. Akira Yokoyama, Director of Clinical Research Unit, Kurihama Medical Addiction Center, about prevention of alcoholism and the significance of genetic testing for alcohol metabolizing enzymes in clinical practice.
This seminar has a great significance for a wider adoption of genetic science and its application in the areas of alcohol related addiction.
